Father’s Feelings© provides fathers with a clinical screening for paternal perinatal* mood disorders (e.g. depression, anxiety and stress), brief coaching and intervention focused on fathers, and referrals to clinical and various social and community services during the perinatal and early childhood phases. This project aims to recognize and address mental health challenges faced by men, encourage paternal engagement and attachment with their child(ren), and raise awareness while enhancing access to resources relevant and tailored for fathers and men.

This training is for practitioners who have already completed the Perinatal Paternal Depression Screening centered on the use of the OhioGuidestone Yates Father Symptom Scale** to identify perinatal mood disorder symptoms related to depression, anxiety and fatherhood stress. This half-day training equips practitioners to begin to use Father’s Feelings© can be used as a broad prevention program standing alone across at least five weekly sessions, or added to other programming from home visiting services to father/family programs and even mental healthcare services.
